Mable Mtambo

General Manager
UCS Manchester

She started working with Unique in 2008. Fast forward to today, her career progressed to General Manager and CQC-nominated individual.

She’s been with the company for 14 years and tells us it is the best thing she’s done in her life. She has no regrets.

She further tells us that At Unique Community Services, they value their staff, they want to see you grow, and they want to make your life better.

She’s been with Unique Community Services for eight years. She wanted to be a nurse and care for people since she was little. She enjoys supporting people with their preferred social and physical activities to meet their daily living.

Therefore, this job is ideal for her. – “I’m happy when I know that I put a smile on a client’s face and that I’ve cared for them and given them all they need.”

She supports them in a unique way; she provides personal care for our clients and makes them smile, listens to their needs, communicates with them and spends more quality time with them.

Elijah

Elijah’s Story

Elijah was born with Apert Syndrome, which affects how bones grow and develop. When he was 18 months old, he required a skull surgery, which was successful in itself; however, during the aftercare process, Elijah contracted an infection that caused severe brain damage. His mother, Kaddy, became his full-time carer as their lives were forever changed.

The team at Unique Community Services started supporting Elijah by using alternative means of communication after assessing his situation and developing a personalised plan to provide him with the best possible care and support. All of the clinicians provided person-centred care to Elijah and partnered with his mom and other teams to ensure Elijah’s care was tailored to his specific needs.
