Olubukola Bode-Kehind

Olubukola helps take care of vulnerable people within their homes. He does many different things during the day so that the person he cares for can be healthier and happier.

In addition to the necessary everyday activities like personal hygiene and care, Olubukola’s primary goal is to make friends with the person he’s working with. This way, he feels he can gain his service user’s trust and make them feel safe and at ease. And in the end, he can do his job much better and provide results faster.

The main thing, Olubukola says, is to establish communication on some level and show the person that they’re equal amongst you. He ensures they’re okay with every activity and are up for rehabilitation.

When we asked him how he felt about working for Unique Community Services, Olubukola said, “Unquie is extraordinary in the level of care, training and support they issue. Unique has always been there for my colleagues and me, supporting us every step of the way.”

Olubukola originates from Nigeria. Back home, he had a grandmother with declining health, and Olubukola was the only one working with her and taking care of her needs. This experience gave him the passion for looking after those in need of complex care and helping bring joy into their lives.

Working in the healthcare sector has been a fulfilling opportunity for Olubukola. It brings him joy, and he is always happy when he sees a smile on people’s faces.
